Launch of new micro-learning in Wave: Open Government Act

As a government employee, you may have to deal with the Open Government Act (in Dutch: Woo). This law governs the right to information about everything the government does. It is the successor to the Freedom of Information Act (Wob). Proper training helps employees become aware of their responsibilities and obligations under the Woo, and ensures that the government agency is able to meet the legal requirements.

Open Government Act (‘Woo’)

We strive to continuously develop new content in Wave in order to provide organizations with relevant and up-to-date training. The implementation of the Woo has direct implications for the information security of government agencies. A micro-learning module on the Open Government Act (Woo) was therefore a logical step for Awareways.

There are important differences between the Woo and it predecessor, the Wob. Government agencies themselves must actively disclose information, there is a broader scope of application and stricter deadlines. The primary goal: to promote transparency within government. This is a significant change for how government employees work and deserves training. With the Woo micro-learning module, you take the first important steps in training your employees in the proper application of the Woo.

Some examples of learning objectives are:

  • You know what the Open Government Act (Woo) is about
  • You know how to work in accordance with the Woo
  • You know what information cannot be made public.
  • You know what the rules are around information management & information security in relation to the Woo.
